Hong Linh Ha Tinh recruits Brazilian striker Welder de Jesus Costa to improve their ineffective attack, hoping to enhance offensive strength in the upcoming phase.
After half of the 2025/26 V.League season, Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club decides to strengthen their attacking line by signing a Brazilian striker currently playing in his home country.
Through 15 rounds, the Hong Mountain team has faced many difficulties in scoring. Coach Nguyen Cong Manh and his players have only scored 11 goals, the lowest record among the 14 participating teams. Notably, among these, 4 goals were scored by defensive players and there was one instance of an opponent's own goal.
The two current foreign strikers of Ha Tinh are Albertine Joao Pereira and Atshimene, who have not met expectations. Both frequently miss favorable opportunities, significantly affecting the team's scoring efficiency. Given this situation, the club's leadership decided to seek a replacement to improve their attacking power.
The chosen name is striker Welder de Jesus Costa. The 1994-born Brazilian forward, standing 1.82m tall, is playing in the Brazilian Second Division; in his career, he has scored 33 goals and provided 3 assists. With experience in South American football, he is expected to bring a difference to Ha Tinh's attack in the remainder of the season.
According to plan, Welder de Jesus Costa will replace Albertine Joao Pereira's foreign player slot in the registration list. The Brazilian striker is likely to debut when Hong Linh Ha Tinh hosts Becamex TP.HCM at 18:00 on March 14.
Currently, after 15 rounds, Hong Linh Ha Tinh ranks 7th on the table with 20 points. Although this position is relatively safe, the Central region team still needs to accumulate more points to achieve their goal of staying in the league early.
The arrival of the new foreign player is expected by fans to help Hong Linh Ha Tinh improve their attacking efficiency, thereby aiming for more positive results in the remaining part of the season.
