Janclesio and Geovane are both unable to join the Vietnam national team in this training session due to incomplete naturalization procedures.
In the March training session of the Vietnam national team, up to the present moment only one naturalized player has been called up: Xuan Son. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next name, possibly Do Hoang Hen of Hanoi FC, who has also completed all naturalization procedures.
Meanwhile, the duo Janclesio and Geovane definitely cannot participate as they have not completed the naturalization procedures, despite meeting the condition of five consecutive years of residence in Vietnam. Therefore, at the earliest, these two Brazilian foreign players will have to wait until June to have an opportunity to be called up to the Vietnam national team.
Previously, head coach Kim Sang Sik and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) proposed that relevant authorities consider assisting with the Vietnamese naturalization procedures for the two foreign players Geovane Magno and Jean Almeida Santos (Janclesio). Both players meet the conditions for applying for naturalization, having played in V-League since 2019 and continuously residing in Vietnam for over five years.
Geovane Magno, born in 1994, stands 1.88 m tall. The Brazilian forward has played for several V-League clubs such as Saigon FC, Hanoi FC, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, and The Cong - Viettel. He is highly regarded for his good technique, speed, and flexible ability to play both as a striker and an attacking midfielder.
Meanwhile, Janclesio, born in 1993, is 1.94 m tall and plays as a center-back. This player has worn the shirts of The Cong - Viettel, SHB Da Nang, and Becamex TP.HCM, impressing with his outstanding physique and strong aerial ability.
Another naturalized name who also misses his chance with the Vietnam national team in this training session is Do Phi Long (Gustavo). The Brazilian-born center-back officially obtained Vietnamese citizenship at the end of 2025, but is currently required to prove to FIFA that his five-year residence in Vietnam was interrupted due to COVID, thus not yet meeting the eligibility criteria to play for the Vietnam national team.
