U23 Vietnam will participate in the CFA Team China 2026 tournament held in Xi'an (China) from March 25 to March 31, 2026. The tournament features four teams: host China, North Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Initially, U23 Iran was listed to participate but withdrew due to instability in the Middle East region. Subsequently, the Chinese Football Association sent an invitation, and U23 Vietnam was selected as the replacement.
This is not the first time Coach Dinh Hong Vinh has taken on this role. In 2025, the coach from Binh Dinh twice replaced Coach Kim Sang-sik to lead U23 Vietnam in CFA Team China tournaments held in China.
