Hanoi Club unexpectedly announced the departure of defender Dao Van Nam before his contract expired.
Hanoi FC has announced the termination of the contract ahead of schedule with defender Dao Van Nam, even though this player still had a contract term with the club.
Dao Van Nam joined Hanoi FC in September 2023 with a three-season contract. At that time, the capital team needed to strengthen its defensive line after parting ways with some key players. The defender, born in 1996, hails from Thai Binh, developed from the Ninh Binh youth training system, and previously played for Hanoi's youth team before establishing his reputation with Hong Linh Ha Tinh.
After more than two seasons with the capital club, this defender only made 37 appearances for Hanoi FC across all competitions, scoring 2 goals. The early parting of ways between the two sides is considered quite surprising, especially since coach Harry Kewell's current squad is not very deep.
Since returning to Hanoi Football Club from the 2023/24 season, the player born in 1996 has consistently demonstrated professionalism, a proper attitude, and readiness to fulfill all tasks. Van Nam strived to integrate into the collective play style, contributing to the team finishing in 3rd place in V-League 2023/24.
Van Nam's professionalism was evident not only on the field but also in communal activities, leaving a positive impression on the coaching staff, teammates, and fans. Hanoi Football Club acknowledges, appreciates, and expresses gratitude for Van Nam's contributions during this period,"Hanoi Club shared.
After Dao Van Nam left the team, Hanoi FC now only has three defenders: Vu Tien Long, Nguyen Thanh Chung, and Do Duy Manh. It is likely that in the near future, the purple-clad team will reinforce its personnel in the defender position, aiming to compete for a top spot in this season's standings.
